Developed at PECS
PsychProfiler - a screening instrument used worldwide.
PsychProfiler is an award-winning, DSM-5-TR-oriented screening instrument created by Dr Shane Langsford. Since 2004 it has been the most widely used Australian-developed psychiatric, psychological and educational screening tool, used across clinical, school and research settings.
What PsychProfiler is
PsychProfiler is a broad-spectrum screening instrument that helps clinicians, schools and researchers identify the areas where a more detailed assessment is likely to be worthwhile. Rather than screening for a single condition, it surveys a wide range of psychiatric, psychological and educational domains in one structured instrument.
Its items are oriented to the DSM-5-TR diagnostic framework, so the screening profile maps cleanly onto the language clinicians use when considering an assessment. With versions across the lifespan and informant forms for parents, teachers and partners, PsychProfiler captures behaviour across the settings in which it actually occurs.
PsychProfiler is a screening instrument. It does not provide a diagnosis. A formal assessment by a qualified clinician is required to establish or exclude any condition.
Why it is used
A broad-spectrum screen, built by a clinician.
DSM-5-TR-oriented
